Explore the kingdoms of Mewar and Marwar, known as Udaipur and Jodhpur, on our Land of the Maharajas tour. Experience glorious scenery, magnificent palaces, intricate and ancient temples, and rich Rajasthani culture in this celebrated and historic region of India’s grandest state.

Day 1:
Arrive Jodhpur and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2:
We begin our exploration with a visit to the imposing hilltop Meherangarh Fort, which contains an impressive museum housing royal palanquins, elephant howdahs and regal costumes. We then visit the lively bazaar area – a network of alleyways filled with traditional commerce from spices and snack foods to textiles and even an open air dentist!

Day 3:
Traveling by road to romantic Udaipur we stop en route to visit the exquisite Ranakpur Temples, one of the five most important pilgrimage sites of the ancient Jain religion.

Day 4:
Today we explore Udaipur with a visit to the famous City Palace. Learn about the dramatic history of this family of Maharanas, the traditional rulers still living in the palace itself. Enjoy a sunset boat cruise on famous Lake Picchola and observe the renowned, fairytale Lake Palace from afar.

Day 5:
Today is free for shopping and exploring the old town before your departure.
